Somatus is seeking an entrepreneurial, innovative and energetic leader to serve as Chief Medical Officer. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this leader will be an integral member of the executive leadership team. The successful candidate will direct the staff and clinical programs of the organization to ensure the highest standards of quality and service are delivered. He or she will oversee the implementation of quality improvement efforts designed to improve clinical performance and maintain compliance with The Joint Commission, HIPAA, and other accreditation standards.
Additionally, this role will evaluate developments in medical care and make recommendations for new practices and procedures, as well as develop major clinical goals to support broad functional objectives of the company. He or she will approve policies developed within various sub-functions and departments.
The Chief Medical Officer will also act as the primary clinical liaison with current and potential clients. In this capacity, as well as in the role of clinical enterprise leader of Somatus, the CMO should be prepared to travel up to approximately 30%.
The ideal candidate will be an MD or DO with at least 10 years of clinical experience within a population health-oriented enterprise, preferably with some level of capitated reimbursement for patients. Candidates with an MBA are preferred.
