The Chief Medical Officer of Piedmont Columbus Regional is responsible for the coordination, direction and planning of all medical staff affairs within Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown (PCRM) and Piedmont Columbus Regional Northside (PCRN) hospitals and ensuring the continuing operations and clinical functions in accordance with policies and standards established by the Boards of Piedmont Columbus Regional (PCR) and Piedmont Healthcare.
The CMO serves as the senior physician leader responsible for overseeing clinical quality and outcomes and spearheading the establishment of evidence-based care standardized protocols in partnership with medical staff while providing oversight for medical staff governance, input on strategic direction and facilitation of strong communications between the medical staff and administration to ensure positive relations. The CMO is a key liaison for physician relationships, engagement, and accountability to achieve the mission and strategic goals of the organization. The CMO leads performance improvement, patient safety, and quality-related activities of the medical center, and collaborates closely with appropriate associates to manage risk. Additionally, the CMO will align medical staff goals with the site, market and organizational objectives and strategies.
- A medical degree from an accredited program.
- Advanced degree in a field directly related to healthcare business management highly desirable (MBA, MHA, or related)
- Eight or more years of management experience in directing medical operations, performance improvement and quality programs, and board certification in a clinical field.
- Candidate must be eligible to obtain licensure or be a licensed physician in the state of Georgia.
