Sutter Gould Medical Foundation (SGMF) is a not-for-profit multi-specialty outpatient health care organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of residents of Stanislaus and San Joaquin counties. Headquartered in Modesto, Sutter Gould Medical Foundation has 24 care centers and 350 SGMF physicians in both primary and specialty practices who provide outpatient services for communities such as Modesto, Tracy, Stockton, Lodi, Turlock, Ceres, and Patterson. SGMF offers 29 medical specialties and provides a full range of outpatient medical services and state-of-the-art technology including electronic medical record, clinical laboratory, audiology and hearing aid center, EKG/Treadmill Labs, radiology and mammography, nuclear medicine/ultrasound unit, and gastrointestinal endoscopy units. Through a professional services agreement, physician services are provided for the Foundation primarily by Gould Medical Group Inc., a large, well respected and long established medical group practice known for the outstanding quality of care. The Medical Director of Hospitalist Service provides medical and administrative leadership for more than 50 FTEs working in three facilities: Memorial Medical Center (MMC), St. Joseph’s Medical Center, and Sutter Tracy Community Hospital (STCH). This position is consistent with the Department Chair within GMG and will participate as a member of the Gould leadership in the areas of strategic planning, policy development, provider clinical evaluations, and pharmacy and therapeutic issues. This position is 80% administrative and 20% clinical and is paired with the Administrative executive at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto for that facilities program. The Medical Director of Hospitalist Service reports directly to the Medical Director of Primary Care of GMG and works very closely with the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Medical Executive at Memorial Medical Center. The Medical Director of Hospitalist Service supervises all Hospitalist section chiefs and team leads.
- A valid medical license (MD/DO) to practice in California.
- An appropriate board certification in specialty.
- Management experience required. Experience as a Physician Executive consistent with the requirements of the position.
- Experience in Lean, Quality Improvement and Team Management preferred.
- Familiarity with Excel, Outlook, Word, EMR use and other computer programs as needed.
- Familiarity with hospitalist compensation methodologies and incentive bonus structures.
