Faculty Scientist, Hastings Center for Pulmonary Research

University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine

  • Location: Los Angeles, CA

Grant Cooper is seeking Faculty Scientists for the Hastings Center for Pulmonary Research at the USC Keck School of Medicine in Los Angeles. The Keck School of Medicine recently established the Hastings Center for Pulmonary Research, a significant milestone that is developing synergy and aligning resources for the major expansion of basic, translational, and clinical lung research at the University of Southern California (USC). The generosity of the center’s founding benefactors, the Hastings Foundation, has positioned Hastings Center for Pulmonary Research to take enormous strides to combat lung disease through scientific investigations into the biology of lung injury, repair and regeneration.

The Hastings Center for Pulmonary Research will complement the multidisciplinary clinical Center for Advanced Lung Disease (CALD) at USC by implementing state-of-the-art bench-to-bedside techniques. A major objective of the CALD is to establish a cohort of patients with whom we can conduct clinical research and from whom we can obtain patient samples for translational studies. Collaboration with this outstanding clinical program in pulmonary medicine will accelerate translation of discoveries into novel approaches for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of advanced lung disease.

The Hastings Center for Pulmonary Research will greatly expand and enhance pulmonary research through targeted faculty recruitments, creation of interdisciplinary research programs and projects, enhanced training and career development, and establishment of the physical and intellectual environment that will place pulmonary research under a single umbrella at USC.
