The Department of Medicine at Houston Methodist Hospital (HMH) is seeking a leader to serve as Endowed Chair and Head of the Division of Infectious Diseases and to build and co-direct a Center for Infectious Diseases. The Division Head and Co-Director will be responsible for academic leadership, developing basic and clinical research, and creating a robust educational program including establishment of an ACGME-approved fellowship in Infectious Diseases. Additional faculty positions and appropriate research space will be available to help build a strong academic unit. As Co-Director, Center for Infectious Diseases, this person will work collaboratively to further plan and develop a center that encompasses research, clinical, and educational excellence in the field. The successful candidate will be eligible for faculty appointments at the Houston Methodist Academic Institute and Weill Cornell Medical College. Secondary faculty appointments at Texas A&M College of Medicine and other medical school affiliates also are possible.

- MD or MD/PhD with board certification in Infectious Diseases.
- Possession of or eligible for an unrestricted Texas medical license.
- Outstanding clinical skills and a national reputation in the field.
- Leadership and administrative skills capable of expanding and propelling the Division to national excellence in patient care, research and education.
- Proven record of substantive scholarly achievements and trainee development.
- Strong record of independent extramural research funding.
