Position Overview

The Division Chief, Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine will be responsible for the academic, clinical, and fiscal management of the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at the University of Kentucky, UK HealthCare. An Endowed Chair accompanies this pivotal position. The mission of the members of the Pulmonary, Critical Care, & Sleep Medicine Division at the University of Kentucky is to improve the health of citizens. The Division’s special focus is to engage in research and education addressing acute and chronic lung conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, lung cancers and fibrosing lung diseases. Should chronic lung diseases progress to end-stage, The Division offers advanced therapies, including lung transplantation for some and expert palliative care for all.

Qualifications

  • An MD degree with board certification in Internal Medicine and Critical Care, and an unrestricted state medical license.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to advance and develop a superior clinical service.
  • Expertise in establishing physician relationships combined with the ability to manage an interdisciplinary team while appreciating and fostering collegial and peer participation from all disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience with capital/operating budgets and an understanding of the challenges facing academic medicine.
