Position Overview

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) assumes responsibility for the long term planning, direction, and overall accountability for CarePoint Health System hospital functions including affiliated medical practice and ambulatory operations. The COO communicates and interprets organizational and departmental mission goals and objectives to all areas of responsibility. The COO provides leadership and direction in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities and is responsible for leading and managing a comprehensive array of services and programs. The COO leads several individual leaders across the CarePoint Health System hospitals and works in partnership with Chief Clinical Information Officer, Human Resources, IS, Finance/CFO, and Quality and Performance Improvement to ensure the hospital organization is high-performing and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, certifications, and licensing requirements. The COO provides day to day leadership for the operations of the hospitals and affiliated HOPD sites, implements strategies established by the System, and manages hospital departments efficiently and effectively to maximize quality of services and profits of the hospitals.


  • Master’s degree required in Healthcare or Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum of ten years’ experience in successfully managing operations in a complex tertiary care, multi-hospital system environment.
  • Experience working in a diverse health care delivery organization preferred.
  • Experience with Medicare Advantage, capitation, and government programs preferred.
