BJC Christian Hospital is a full service acute-care medical center with over 230-beds, located on a 28 acre campus in St. Louis County. The NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center of BJC Healthcare, Siteman Cancer Center, opened a location at Christian Hospital in 2017, offering convenient access to nationally recognized cancer care. Located six miles west of Christian Hospital is Northwest HealthCare, which offers the community 24-hour emergency care for adults and a pediatric emergency room in collaboration with St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Northwest Healthcare also provides a Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of outpatient diagnostic and imaging services in a convenient setting to complement hospital services. Siteman Cancer Center opened its new $26.3 million facility on the Northwest HealthCare campus in 2019 to offer convenient access to nationally recognized cancer care, including clinical trials evaluating innovative cancer therapies. In addition to long standing private physician groups, care is provided by BJC Medical Group, the Washington University School of Medicine, and TeamHealth.
Reporting directly to the President, Christian Hospital, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Senior Vice President, Chief Clinical Officer for BJC HealthCare, the CMO will be responsible for ensuring clinical quality and efficiencies to provide highly reliable, evidence-based patient care. The CMO will engage medical staff members, administrative and nursing leaders, and other key stakeholders to foster an environment of collaboration and communication to provide the highest quality patient care delivery. The CMO will ensure strong working relationships among contracted, affiliated, and private physician groups, including BJC and Washington University physicians. He/she will drive clinical data measurement, analysis, and dissemination and provide leadership that allows physicians, advanced practice practitioners and other clinicians to improve patient outcomes by leveraging best practices and continuous improvement with uncompromising quality, standards, and results. In addition, the CMO will lead negotiation and management of physician group contractual agreements.
- MD or DO degree and licensure or ability to obtain a Missouri medical licensure;
- MBA, MHA or other advanced degree in related field preferred;
- A minimum of 5-10 years of clinical experience; A minimum of five years of experience and a track record of success in significant leadership roles.
- The CMO must be comfortable working in an environment that has medical groups of varying size and contractual relationships.
- Previous experience negotiating and managing provider contracts is highly desirable.
