BJC Memorial Health includes two community hospitals with 316 beds, serving the Metro East area of St. Louis and Southern Illinois. BJC Memorial Health includes the only hospital in Illinois, south of Springfield, designated as a Magnet® hospital for nursing excellence.  In 2016, Memorial East in Shiloh, IL an all private-room 92 bed hospital was opened.

Reporting directly to the President, Memorial Health Services, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Senior Vice President, Chief Clinical Officer for BJC HealthCare, the CMO will be responsible for ensuring clinical quality and efficiencies to provide highly reliable, evidence-based patient care. The CMO will engage medical staff members, administrative and nursing leaders, and other key stakeholders to foster an environment of collaboration and communication to provide the highest quality patient care delivery. The CMO will ensure strong working relationships among contracted, affiliated, and private physician groups, including BJC and Washington University physicians. He/she will drive clinical data measurement, analysis, and dissemination and provide leadership that allows physicians, advanced practice practitioners and other clinicians to improve patient outcomes by leveraging best practices and continuous improvement with uncompromising quality, standards, and results. In addition, the CMO will lead negotiation and management of physician group contractual agreements. The CMO will maintain a strong presence on both the Belleville and Shiloh campuses, and recognize and support their unique differences.

Qualifications:

MD or DO degree and licensure or ability to obtain Illinois medical licensure;

MBA, MHA or other advanced degree in related field preferred;

A minimum of 5-10 years of clinical experience; A minimum of five years of experience and a track record of success in significant leadership roles.

The CMO must be comfortable working in an environment that has medical groups of varying size and contractual relationships.

Previous experience negotiating and managing provider contracts is highly desirable.
