Clinica Sierra Vista (CSV) is one of the nation’s largest Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), operating thirty-one comprehensive primary care community health centers in the urban, rural and frontier areas of Kern, Fresno, and Inyo counties of California. The vast service area encompasses several thousand square miles of farmland, desert and mountain ranges.
Clinica Sierra Vista’s community health centers provide comprehensive primary and preventative health care, including medical, dental, and behavioral health services in areas where access to health care historically has been inadequate. Additionally, CSV operates many health education, prevention, case-management and enabling programs, and offers a strong Family Practice medicine residency program receiving a 10-year Accreditation by the American Council of Graduate Medical Education in 2017. CSV serves about 200,000 people through direct care and our programs, and employ a workforce of 1,250.
Clinica Sierra Vista is a Joint Commission-accredited community health center for Ambulatory Care and Primary Care Medical Home.
The Chief Executive Officer will provide mission-driven, impassioned leadership to grow and expand Clinica Sierra Vista’s programs to serve the needs of the community. The CEO will be responsible for the overall strategic, financial, and operational success of the organization. The Chief Executive Officer will be a visible leader in the community, working with other local health-care delivery systems to improve access and quality of care. This role will represent Clinical Sierra Vista at the national, state, and local government level. The CEO will have experience and skill working with culturally and linguistically diverse patient populations and will possess the compassion and knowledge that is required to serve the vulnerable and low-income, as well as a thorough understanding of what it means to be a “safety-net” provider.
- CEO, President, or Executive Director experience leading a complex multi-site FQHC or FQHC look-alike, with depth in board relations and demonstrated skills in visionary leadership. Proven ability to implement new programs, initiatives, and lead organizational advancement a must.
- Strong operational leadership skills, including: organizational development, personnel and fiscal management, fund development, strategic planning and the establishment of collaborative relationships with diverse constituents.
- Extensive history of successful applications for private and public grants, team leadership, and strong financial management skills. An appreciation for the rural health setting and the challenges it brings in providing services, as well as an ability to communicate effectively in public situations, including media and public policy environments.
- At least 10 years of successful and progressively growing responsibility in health care leadership, with at least 3-5 years at the CEO level of a successful multi-site FQHC or FQHC look-alike. A Master’s Degree in Business or Healthcare Administration or related field is also a requirement.
