Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas is the flagship hospital and main teaching hospital for the Northern Division of Baylor Scott & White Health, the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in Texas and one of the largest in the country with a service area population of nearly 10 million. The Endoscopy Center performed over 1,500 advanced procedures and nearly 12,000 procedures of all types last year. Baylor’s Gastroenterology Division was ranked #15 nationally in the 2014 US News & World Report survey and has established training programs in gastroenterology and hepatology. Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas has one of the busiest liver transplant services in the country, an enormous oncology practice, and superb radiology and general surgery services. Baylor Research Institute provides support for over 500 investigators and has expertise in grant administration and clinical trials execution.

Position Overview

The Chief is responsible for overseeing the Advanced Endoscopy Center and collaborating with administration on the delivery of endoscopic services at Baylor University Medical Center. The Chief will provide strong leadership, expanding the Center’s clinical and research programs, assist in recruiting high caliber talent into the organization, and promoting quality of care. S/he will support the provision of a strong customer service orientation toward patients, affiliated providers, and referring community physicians.


  • MD, board certification by ABIM with subspecialty board certification in Gastroenterology; completed subspecialty fellowship training in Advanced Endoscopy.
  • In order to promote BUMC programs and to be credible in the recruitment of high-caliber physicians to BUMC, this individual will be of the highest professional standing.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills required to effect improvement in clinical operations, recruitment, quality, research, teaching and team building for the Division of Gastroenterology.
  • Financial management skills and experience in the business operations of a large and complex service.
