Inova Behavioral Health supports Inova’s overall mission, promoting total wellness – mind and body – by offering a full spectrum of mental health and addiction treatment services to the surrounding Northern Virginia and Washington, DC, metropolitan community. Its extensive continuum of care includes an urgent psychiatric and addiction assessment center, inpatient psychiatry, inpatient detoxification, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, outpatient psychiatric appointments, and outpatient counseling services provided by the system’s medical staff and network of hospitals and outpatient facilities.
Reporting to the President of Inova Medical Group and the EVP and Chief Medical Officer of Inova Health System, the Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at Inova Health System is responsible and accountable for the professional and educational activities within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health System Service Line. The Chair of the Department of Psychiatry will develop, facilitate, and implement a full range of programs inclusive of the Department’s clinical, educational, and research endeavors. The successful candidate will integrate all aspects of behavioral health into a seamless service line coordinating all services into a highly functional patient-centric center of excellence.
- MD or MD/Ph.D. and American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Certification.
- Eligible for academic appointment at a professor level.
- Ten or more years’ experience in a complex healthcare system with considerable time in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to drive performance in quality, clinical care, patient experience, and financial performance.
- Broad-based experience in all aspects of managing a department including finance, recruitment, mentoring, program development, and patient relations.
